MAP International

This organization’s core competency is in distributing donated medicines through thousands of partners and missions teams to address basic health issues faced by those living in extreme poverty.

(Updated October 2018)

In addition to providing much needed pharmaceuticals to indigenous mission-based hospitals and clinics serving the poor, MAP Int’l supplies partner organizations and agencies working in long-term health development projects with the medicines they need to improve community health.  Short-term missions are also supplied through MAP’s Medical Mission Packs program.  All together, MAP served over 14 million people in 90+ countries last year.

MAP’s work in providing medicines is complemented by its commitment to what it calls “Global Community Health Development.”  In action, this commitment takes the form of establishing and supporting independent, indigenous field offices which, among other things, pay significant attention to training community leaders in working for sustainable improvements in overall health, including identifying underlying causes (water and sanitation, for instance) and implementing preventative measures.  In this process, MAP acts as a catalyst to help communities “own” the goals, plans, work, and results.  To make its transformational development approach complete, MAP provides critical guidance and equipping for short-term missions trips, church partnerships, and indigenous organizations to ensure that their efforts dovetail with its long-term projects and programs for maximum effectiveness.

There is incredible leverage to be had in supporting organizations, like MAP Int’l, that equip the servants – in this case, the thousands of clinics, agencies, NGO’s, and missions that serve the overseas poor with life-changing medical services.
