Grace and Truth:  An Encouragement

Connecting with God in an Age of Broken Promises

This collection is offered as an encouragement to those who would like to connect with God:

Those who’ve been left empty or confused or angered by their experience of Christian religion.

Those on the way out of the Church.  Those on the way in.

The Curious.  The Wounded.  The Joyful.  The Searcher.

The Hopeful, or anyone who would like to be.

Anyone searching for peace and meaning in their life.

And especially, those who would like to know God better and enjoy walking in closer communion with Him.

The guy writing this is not an authority on Christianity; he is a fellow sojourner who has placed his trust in Jesus for the care of his soul.   You can think of the pages that follow as one hungry beggar showing another where he found food in a world of broken promises.

I am a beggar:

  • hungry for Truth and Meaning,
  • disillusioned by a world that is seriously out of alignment with God,
  • disappointed with the self-righteousness, jargon, and judgmentalism found in some of our churches,
  • desiring better answers to the questions life poses than those promoted by a culture lost in dissipation.

If you are a beggar too, wanting more than our injured world offers,
the following pages are
for you.

"Emmanuel" ...   God with us...   is a truly incredible proposition!

I pray that you’ll find encouragement in the pages that follow.
